FAQs for Farm Yoga

Where is Hendo Care Farm?
HCF is located in Hendersonville, specifically in the township of Fruitland. Address will be shared at the time of your registration. They are down the street from Justus Orchards.

What is the Yoga level?

It will be a 45-minute Gentle Yoga class for all levels ages 10 years old to adult. The Yoga instructor will provide modifications for certain poses so all can participate. A lot of focus will be on finding alignment and ease within the body and the mind. Class will include various seated and standing postures, yogic breathing, and a simple guided meditation. Please keep in mind that this Yoga class will be practice on uneven ground on the grass, so please bring any props that you might need.

What kind of farm animal interaction will we be permitted to have?
Before entering the pastures, you'll receive safety tips and sign a waiver. Once inside, feel free to greet and pet the animals as you set up your mat and snap photos. HCF will provide treats for you to feed them!

During the class, the animals roam freely, sometimes getting close to your mat, other times doing their own thing. Afterward, you'll have time for more interactions and photos before you head out. Please note: No personal food is allowed in the pastures, and we recommend leaving your belongings outside the yoga area to avoid curious animals.

Arrival Expectations
Please plan to arrive a minimum of 10-min early to park, sign your waiver, listen to safety tips, setup your mat, and say hello to the animals. Class will end at the scheduled time. Please keep any belongings in your car that you don’t want to get dirty, damaged, or lost. If you must bring a bag or purse, you will be required to leave it outside of the Yoga pasture. Your phone and a water bottle are both permitted to be inside the Yoga area.

Cancellations and Weather
Class will be held rain or shine. Be sure to dress for the weather as well as wear sunscreen. If the weather calls for a lot of rain or the ground is too wet from the day before, then the yoga class will move to the indoor Barn Studio on property.  This will still include plenty of time to interact with the animals before or after the class.  Cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable. There will be no make-up classes in the event of a participant’s absence. However, we will offer a make-up class due to any weather-related cancellations initiated by HCF if the weather does not allow for a safe environment.

What to Wear and Bring
We recommend wearing appropriate clothes for Yoga and sturdy close-toed shoes for when walking in and out of the yoga pasture. They have very uneven ground and the pigs and goats could accidentally step on your toes. Going bare foot is perfectly fine once you get onto your mat. You have the option of bringing your own mat or borrowing one of ours. Other recommendations are to bring: water bottle, sunglasses or hat, your camera, Yoga mat, and a small towel if you sweat a lot.

Farm Safety
For the safety and security of our farm and our animals, HCF must enforce the following rules on the farm:

  1. No smoking, vaping, tobacco products, drugs or CBD.

  2. No outside pets allowed.

  3. No spectators allowed without registration.

  4. No outside treats for the animals.

  5. No going to other areas of the farm without permission.

  6. Children cannot be left unattended.
